You guys put your lives on the line for us daily, and for crappy wages. Rarely do you hear one of those you serve say "thank you".

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

May God guard you and keep you safe from harm.NCSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17617227847364562989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-206524469710613848.post-53408215564825653462009-12-01T20:09:50.989-06:002009-12-01T20:09:50.989-06:00I am a retired CO State Trooper and currently a Sh...I am a retired CO State Trooper and currently a Sheriff's Deputy working in our court house. (28 years and counting) You hit it on the head when you said you pre-plan but can't always be in the red zone or you will go insane. Which is what makes it so hard, it could happen to any one of us, any day and any officer that thinks it can't better start looking for another job. That is why we (police officers) need to be ready, squared with the Lord, because death can come like a thief in the night.
God Bless them and have mercy on their families for they are hurting.
Old SmokeyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-206524469710613848.post-56360876165304344682009-12-01T12:42:35.752-06:002009-12-01T12:42:35.752-06:00Thank you for sharing this story. But I know about it now.

My family and I will keep these families and the souls of the police officers in our prayers tonight.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-206524469710613848.post-88675396370208236482009-12-01T11:47:05.358-06:002009-12-01T11:47:05.358-06:00I'm so, so sorry to hear this. I'm ashamed...I'm so, so sorry to hear this. I'm ashamed to admit that this is the first time I've heard of this as I don't watch TV and rarely listen to the news (hangs her head in shame.) I'm somewhat of a hermit by choice and have purposely isolated myself from the general puplic here in a small town in the southern part of Georgia because everything I hear is - well, crap! I know hiding my head in the sand is not the answer, but sometimes a person just needs to regroup. I can't even imagine being a police officer or being married to one. I don't think I could handle the stress. I'm already disappointed and fed up with society as a whole.
I will pray for those young officers and their families and ask God for strengh and courage for their loved ones.
I often go visit the 911 Prayer Garden at my local park and sit there by the memorial and ponder the very same thing about the people who started their day on that September morning in 2001 - isn't life strange and unpredictable? One more reason to treasure every single minute and let not one moment of happiness slip out of your hands, lest it be gone like water through your fingers.
Have a blessed day!Doris Sturmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09383495196401230783noreply@blogger.com
